When the show picked up roots for Los Angeles, it got even nuttier and we all knew the end was near. It’s not like the first half of “Nip/Tuck” wasn’t crazy - it was - but it was always balanced by the humanity of characters like Liz (Roma Maffia) and Julia (Richardson). The final three seasons still had moments in which the potential of the show would shine through but then the balance would sway to the insane once again. All sense of normalcy was thrown out the window as plots became more and more ridiculous. There are scenes of highly realistic and graphic plastic surgery procedures in every episode, which really coordinates the viewer into watching an actual operation - facelits, liposuction, tummy tucks, reconstructive surgery, breast augmentations, etc. 90210 feel, especially the doctors and the patients throughout the series, and deals with an enormous amount of very dark and mature themes such as rape, pedophilia, incest, illicit drug abuse, and suicide.
