Koala made the decision to enlist in the Revolutionary Army at the age of 14 despite her traumatic history. She was severely traumatized while she was a slave, as was evident when she boarded the ship of the Sun Pirates. This was a huge turning point in her life, which led to her becoming one of the best female characters in One Piece. The Sun Pirates later assisted her in returning to her house.
